Electric car sales more than doubled in the first quarter of this year, according to a report out today from the International Energy Agency, and could grow significantly if governments accelerate efforts to reach climate goals. Entrepreneurial city mayors are already using all available tools to drive the transition to electric vehicles much faster than markets would otherwise deliver, and after huge progress with zero-emission buses, the focus is now shifting to taxis, ride-share and private vehicles.
